Question Classic Performance Products VS. Early Classics

Who is better and for what reason? Any problems with either company? Quality of products? Installation ease? Let me know before I spend a lot of money with either company.

I got early classic 4/6 drop kit. The staff was really great to work with and the parts are awsome. I plan on doing alot more with them

I got my drop kit from Classic Performance. The quality is good, but I got stuck with a long backorder (over a month) that they didn't mention when I was ordering it. Also, I talked to 2 different people on the phone, and all they knew about their products was what was written in the description.
That may be the case everywhere, though.

I've never ordered from Classic Performance, but I've spent alot of time on their website. I don't like the look of their products. Their design doesn't look good to me. I have ordered many parts from Early Classic. Their design and fit is the best I have ever seen. Their common pieces like poly gas tanks and trim pieces are just like the ones all the other vendors get and have some of the same fit problems. But their suspension pieces are top notch. The slide together just like you wish all parts did.

I used the 4/5 kit from early classic...nothing but kudos from me. Great service and grade A parts.

You get what you pay for with Early Classics. If my budget was tighter (If that's possible) I'd go with CPP though.

Only thing I've gotten from either one is my drop kit from ECE. 2.5" drop spindles and disc conversion for the front, 4" drop leaves for the back. Everything fit perfectly and still works great to this day, three years later. Still handles and brakes great - I honestly think it corners flatter than our '97 Mercedes (though it doesn't necessarily stick as well) and I don't even have any rollbars. Absolutely awesome and you can't beat the service, either.

I'm with Early Classic. There a small shop, if you got a problem they want you to call them and they dont care how many time you call them over and over. plus they've held parts for me for a long time without any problems, they even opened a box for some sheet metal and made sure it wasnt dented(they have that problem with shipping company).

CPP great company, another no BS company. they stand by there product and if you got a problem they are so willing to help you.

But since i've been at there shop and talk to the guys at Early classic i know i am a customer that is proud to say i bought from them and there pruducts were build right.

Early Classic 100% for me

I've bought from both. ECE was courteous, knowledgeable, and fast. They got me what I needed... and in one instance, got me out of a pinch with a much needed part by yanking it off one of their trucks in the yard.

As for CPP, I've got mixed feelings about them. They have a wide selection, and they seem to be knowledgeable, but their courtesy didn't seem to leave a lasting impression. Also, after I had to modify their notch kit to work with ECE's long track bar, I sent them a couple of pics, and an explanation of what needed to be done. I suggested they make these changes to their kit since others would surely run into the same problems I did. Their response was that they weren't going to change the kit so that somebody else's part would work with it. Pretty chicken-feces if you ask me... especially since they don't offer a comparable track bar, which is critical to big drops, which is the whole point of needing the notch kit in the first place.

My 3 cents (I gave you a little extra ),

before i decided to build a 4x when i was about to buy their 4/6 drop kit with shock relocators and all, i prob spent about 3 hours on he phone with them a week, theyanswered all my dumb questions, everybody that works there droves a 67-72 and they were chosen by Classic Truskc mag to build hteir project 68, but i've never heard anything bad about the other company, there prob the two best in my opinion

You will save money with CPP! and their products are first class. Early Classic makes you buy too many things in their packages, that you don't need or want...They have really gone "Hollywood" since they got some magazines articles! My experience.

Early Classic is Excellent! I've never dealt with CPP. I've spent my fair share with the Early Classic guys and even a good bit of time on the phone with them shooting the bull about these trucks and various engine combos, suspension mods and cooling ideas. Bought brake components to go with my 75 front-end swap. These guys are hotrodders that try to provide an easy way out as well with their complete kits.

Keep in mind they don't make all the parts they sell even though they try to verify the quality. I've had issues with some of the company's parts they sell (bought elsewhere), but never with ECE.
