Edelbrock Carb Set For Economy?
Well I got rid of the performer RPM intake for a new performer cam kit. The guy I got it from also has a performer intake and Quadrajet Carb but wants 225.00 for the set up. I have a target 350 with 2in exhaust and stock rams horns with the stock cam. I also have a fairly new 1406 edelbrock carb. My question is I commute 136 mi one way and need my truck set up for milage. Out of everything I have or access to what set up should I run? Should I install the cam? Run the edelbrock carb or the Quadrajet? One thing I know for sure is I am going to run a performer manifold weather I buy this guys or buy a new manifold. Any help would be great.
Thanks David

The cam, 1406 and manifold will do the best. The 1406 is an easy carb to tune and gives very good results. The cam was ground to work best with that setup, run it with standard ratio arms. Duals with a h-pipe would be good too. If your running 1.94 / 1.60 valves go with 2 1/4 manifolds or headers and pipes. Russell fittings just came out with a new feed line and filter combo that looks real nice for the Edel carbs. Summit should have those. Look into the Edel spring kit in order to tune the carb, I think I'm running the orange springs.
