I have an extra factory fixed blade non-clutch fan. Did our trucks ever get factory clutch fans or does one need to just find something that works?

According to the factory assembly manual they got a 5 blade clutch fan. Just locating one is the fun part

Skokie,

I would suggest checking your shroud to see what diameter fan that you can run. I believe it will be a 17 1/2" fan that will clear.

Aftermarket fan clutches are available that look pretty good. Don't buy one that has been used for any time as they can go bad just sitting.

Here is a pic of an aftermarket fan clutch, (it is a thermal clutch).

I can put a 18 inch in there and it will clear. What did that fan come off of?

Skokie,

I wish that I knew what the fan came off of. It was laying in the junkyard and I noticed that it was the right size to fit the shroud.

Sorry,

Jim
