Heater Hoses Question
On my Panel, with it's 230 I6, My return line from the heater has a 'Tee' in it and one line goes back to the motor @ the thermostat housing and the other goes into a factory-looking fitting at the top of the radiator. Is this normal? I've not ever seen another rad. with this hose fitting on it. The rad. is normal looking in every other way.

i've seen them both ways..I think it had somethign to do with a/c verses non a/c.
You sure that's a 230 in there? If it is original, then it'll be a 250 or a 292. No 230's came in 67 - 72 trucks. |

Yeah-it's a defacto 230. Some clown put a 230 crank and pistons in a '75 250 block.

I'm sure it'll work either way.The newer trucks have the return going to the rad, and no problems.I'd plug the one on the motor.

The service manual states that the return hose is to be hooked to the radiator if the truck is a v-8 with automatic transmission. Someone has added the tee and extra hose.
My radiator repairman tells me that if you have AC the return hose should go back to the radiator. Jim |
