damaged upper hinge mount on 68 cab

My door still operates fine but the sheet metal is almost torn out at the cab behind the upper mount. Any idea what to do about this or anyone seen this before? I know when it finally goes I'll be in trouble.

Welcome to the site from West Michigan!

I would think that you can repair the area by welding in a patch. You don't happen to have a picture do you?

I had a door like that...it was not from rust...just from the door being sprung all the way open...just beat it back and welded it...just like new

Nice to meet all of you. Mine has no rust. I think it was just swung open too hard over the years. Guess I'll find someone to weld it.
