Tricks for tilt columns with late model wheel

I just installed a tilt to my 71 SWB. The buckets are coming, so I wanted to get this in while there was lots of clearance with the seat out and clean floors.
Late 90s style, leather wheel. Notice the horn wire coming us through the wheel.
...and notice the short shift arm from a late 70s van. It fits so much better with smaller wheels. It is shorter and also comes up higher.
Here's also a pic of a long stock arm for comparison ...and another short shift arm that fits 71-2 non-tilt columns with a few modifications.

Simple swap huh.
In case you were told that is real leather...it isn't. I have the same on in my truck and in the old 69, and in a shop truck...and the shop one is falling apart. It's all man made materials.

Pickmup, what kind of buckets are you using? Being 6' 4", I need some in the worst way.

Genuine Leather!!!

No man made here. I don't know what Longhorn has, but these are real leather. These were made for GM and the leather came from both Italy & Mexico.

Dave,
I am using correct GM truck buckets & console, but the seats will have Houndstooth covers. I want to keep this Cheyenne pretty close to original. The color/material combination are as done in a "Super", but you could only get the Houndstooth in a bench. So, this will be how GM "should" have done it.

I used a van shifter as well when I went to a smaller wheel. Not stock but far more appropriate for the smaller wheel.

Where to get wheel?

I used to buy these from the company that made them for GM. The last year in GM trucks was 94, and the real leather was not very common. The manufacturer kept making & selling them until they went out-of-business about 3 yrs ago. They also did the custom horn covers...also leather.
I have them in my Blazer, GMC flatbed, stepside and now in the 71 SWB.
Lazyguard/Darrell actually bought the tan one out of this truck last weekend when he was down. Poor truck was really looking bad with no seats & no wheel. I had to quick put something back in there...so, painted up a tilt & "wah-lah"!
That is one of the old NOS van tilt short arms that I had from the days when you could go to GM & order them. They were "discontinued" even before the 71-2 truck arms were discontinued. I would like to know who/where all of the old stock went on these.

Could you please provide details? I really don't like the stock length of mine.
