Glazed Brake shoe Question
Any body ever tried to scuff em up a bit? I have plenty of meat left on em but they are pretty badly glazed and they are not stopping the truck very well. was hoping I might be able to salvage them.

Im sure nobody will tell you"yeah sure hit them with sandpaper and they will be good as new".LOL because they wont, you might save a little by cleaning them and roughing them up and checking for heat cracks, but it all comes down to in a bind is this thing gonna stop me?

When I was crewing with my Dad's race team (Camaro - Trans Am series), we pulled the pads out after each heat (10-15 laps, depending on track) and rubbed them on the concrete in the pits in a 'figure 8' motion. Took the glazing off and never had braking problems in a 1500kg, 700hp racing car.....
