Got lucky today.

Well the glazed brake shoes didn't matter because I didn't even have time to apply them. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I was about fifty feet from this guy when he pulled out. I had been traveling down the road (straight as an arrow for about a mile in each direction) I saw this blazer sitting on the side street. I was about fifty feet away from it when he pulled out VERY slowly in front of me. I turned into the oncoming lane thinking he would stop but he just kept on coming. I was so close to him that he actually drove right into the side of my fender as I was passing him. Oh, did I mention he was 92. Fortunately everyone was alright. The guy wouldn't even say anything to me and his wife was sitting there saying she was sorry etc. I can imagine he got an earful later on, poor guy. My first accident in 15 years of driving. Not bad and it certainly could have been worse. No frame or steering linkage damage at all. The rim is toast. Whole front clip except for the hood is gone as well as the passenger door. Perfect timing too since I am getting two or three calls a day now to go look at jobs. Only other good news is we have the same insurance provider.

Yeah glad you (and the others) were OK. Sorry to see the bang up on the truck. Good luck getting things squared away.

Thanks guys. I guess it all depends on the ins. adjuster. Any ideas what they will give me after they total it? I figured around 1200 but then my brother said a friend of his with an 84 scottsdale was only offered 400 or something.

I'm sure they'll try to offer you next to nothing, they'll say it's almost 40 years old. I've heard many people say, don't accept it, make them pay an acceptable amount.

Hey screaminc10. I just saw your post about your truck, sorry to see that. Nice truck to by the way. It sucks when you get some bad cops dealing with you. The local cops took probably 20 minutes to get to this acccident and the station was two miles up the road and the guy whose yard I ended up in had called 911. There were two people over 90 years old in the other car. I was pretty dissapointed myself, and I have alot of respect for officers of the law.
