Ford 9 inch Disc Brakes F/S
I have a 9 inch rear with factory disc brakes for sale .It is out of the bic car line of Fords and has the 5 on 5 inch bolt pattern that is the same as Chevy trucks. It is complete .I do not know what gear and I am sure that it isnt a posi .I will let it go for $200 .I may be able to meet you to save on shipping. It is in Bryan,Tx. 979-272-9403 or frankm@tconline.net .My email has been slow lately. I do not want to ship this so I guess it is for Texas members or surrounding states. Frank

I have the same rearend in my 63. I ended up making some brackets and using 72 chevy front calipers because the ford calipers were about 100 a piece and a lifetime 72 caliper is 20 bucks, and it makes buying pads easier since the front are the same as the back.

I shipped two different 12 bolt car rears .One to Michigan and one to Minnesota. They were both over $200 to ship which would double the price. Oc ,did you get the PM yesterday. I am having trouble getting a picture. Camera and comp probs. It is a heavy 9 inch that is about 63.5 inches wide at the wheel mounting flanges. If I can get my act together OC is first in line I think. Frank

If you know let me know. I am not worried about the perch distance but rather the wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface. |

To eliminate the issue w/the early disc hardware, would later model Ford explorer parts work to update the rear discs?

rear
I am sure it is a 2.xx gear non posi since it came out of a luxury car .It is dirty and has a lot of mounting brackets that it used for the car that would have to be removed but I have seen them under trucks before .I tried to measure the width and it looks like 63 1/2 " from flange to flange ( where the wheels bolt on ). I dont have a truck rear to compare it to right now .Anyone know what the width of a Chevy truck rear is ? Please post it . Frank

I am intrested if your other buyer backs out. I just need to verify the length of my current axle and make sure I can get the proper offset in the wheels I want.
Can you tell me the distance in between the axle tube flanges, so I can make sure I can weld in my spring perches and make it work. |
