Exclamation Freize plugs

Okay, I got the motor mount loose, the engine tilted old plug fell right out. Cool. Put in the new soft plug. Tightened it up, put water in the radiator. Checked for leaks. NOthing. Cool. Lowered the engine. hopped in the truck. Fired her up. Hear water running. NOt Cool. Looked under engine. Other side plug blew out. Had a beer, went to bed.
Seriously, thanks for the advice on how to do this. Second one should go a little easier. Thanks.

Question

IF ONE FREEZE PLUG IS ROTTED, CHANCES ARE, THE REST AREN'T IN VERY GOOD SHAPE EITHER. WHILE YOU GOT THE MOTOR OUT, WHY NOT JUST REPLACE THEM ALL?? INCLUDING THE TWO BETWEEN THE MOTOR & TRANS. I WOULD SUGJEST USING BRASS PLUGS, SO THEY WON'T RUST. ( THEY'RE $13 INSTEAD OF $9)

Talking I know

See, the motor isnt out now. Tranny is hooked up and everything. I think I'll just take it all apart and start at ground zero.
I was hoping to not have to do this. On the plus side, I did find a '68 3/4 ton Stepside Longbox. I was on vacation and went by a junkyard (not gonna tell you where Got the whole truck for 100 bucks!!!! My wife was ecstatic. Great souvenir.
