Mr. Gasket Shifter problems.

read on to find out more since the last time i messed with this shifter please

I bought a mr. gasket aftermarket floor shifter.

It doesn't seem to fit. The apperatus that holds the shifter on is not in relation to the rods that go to the gear selectors. anyone got pictures of your setup from the underneath??

thanks. sswj

Mine is a Hurst Indy shifter, But I think the hook ups are pretty similar. Maybe these will help some.

Glad to help. I had a heck of a headache when I first did mine. Took a couple of trys and a whole lot of not so nice words.

New problems!

Everyone knows that the shift pattern should be like this:

R`````2
`````
-- N--
`````
1`````3

After i got my new driveshaft in i backed it off of the ramps.
and put it in what should be Reverse and it goes forward
pull strait down and it goes forward again. hmmmmm

put it on the other side and up and it goes backwards????

So i review the posts here and look at the instructions and i realize that i thought the R1 shaft on the tranny was the one on the front and not the rear so i try to do the rods over again and i can't b/c they cross over. So therefore to get a nice tight parrallel rods i've got a shift pattern that's like this:

2`````R
`````
--N--
`````
3`````1

I could go snap a pic if need be.
anyone with ideas?? thanks sswj

Hey, with a shift pattern like that, they won't steal your truck so easy!

It looks like you have the two shift rods reversed. Take the rod going to the front fork lever and move it the the rear one on the tranny and vice versa. That should take care of that. (and no you may not ask me how I know this )
