Moving under its own power!!
We got the 68 moving by its own means!!! Backed it out and turned it around to remove the bed so we can sand blast and paint the underside and inside of the bed. My son wanted to be the first to drive it...that was fine with me and he really enjoyed it. Getting closer to paint all the time...hopefully by the end of summer anyhow! Just wanted to share a couple pics and our slow but steady progress.
![]() P.S. the cab is a 67, but we wanted the side marker lights. |

It's always good when you don't need a chain to move it.

![]() Little steps are great, especially when it means hearing an engine run and getting the truck to move on it's own. Congrats. ![]()

It sure as hell beats winching one up on a trailer by hand. It took about an hour to get mine on the trailer when It came to my house. Congratulations, it's a great feeling.

Looking good Gord, any progress is good progress. Looks like the temps in the 40's is melting some of that snow down there!

Thanks all for the encouragement!! We started on this truck about a year or so ago, got the cab and box from teeitup, (great sleeping on the crispy creme doughnut story during that trip), we had one 4x4 frame and got another locally for drivetrain donations. It was just something I wanted to do before my youngest son starts to get interested in other things, we have had some good road trips and quality shop time together on this. dtlilly...supposed to get up to 70 here today!!! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy getting on the snowmobile in the winter, but I'm ready for some warm weather! Later, Gord
