upgrading braking?
Has anyone changed out their master cylinder and booster for a more modern version like a 90's corvette unit? Mine is getting worn and leaking and I was thinking of upgrading if it isnt to difficult and if the results are that much better. Thanx!

I went to a dual diaphram booster and new master. About $140 and it made a HUGE difference.

Was it a direct bolt on? Also, which brand are they or what did they come off of?

i put a 81 master cyd and booster on a 67 truck i also had to make a rod from the master cyd to the booster cause the 67 one was to short besides that it was a bolt up deal !! oh the 81 stuff was metric was a pain in the a$$ to find all the fittings next time i will use 79 and older stuff

I bought this unit. Almost direct bolt on. Had to shave the firewall bracket to fit over thestuds and the brake rod was cut to fit. Both front & rear fluid ports take small fittings, so that has to be adapted. Not on the road yet so, i odon't know how well it works. Someone else on the board has one, i got the idea from them. I thought I had a better picture, I will get one sometime.
