good luck. i have a hard time with short VCs. i believe you will at least need a longer top arm to get the clearance neccessary to get the belt on and tight. probably like one of those mr. gasket chrome jobbies that are universal should fit. if i am wrong, someone please speak up as to why my short VCs allow for use of only the last half of the upper bracket for adjustment.

You need a longer arm for the top mount. I believe the arm for a corvette is longer due to the lower hood level.

Make sure you are using the correct brackets based on your water pump ( Long versus Short). I'm assuming you are talking about the passenger side. Mine is very close on the passenger side with tall covers but no problems. Look at these brackets to identify:http://www.hotrodchrome.com/alternatorbrackets.html

I agree with vfrdude. I used taller covers. Except, all I did was make an extender for the top bracket (2.5" long, 1" wide, with a hole at each end). Bolt one end of the fabricated piece to the head where the original bracket goes. Then bolt the bracket to the other end of the extender.

Go buy a longer belt and put it all together. Mine works like a champ. This will push the alt out a little farther so you have plenty of adjustment and you won't your covers.

Sorry no pics. No camera.
