Intro/question

Hello, I'm new to the board and wanted to introduce myself and my truck. It's a 1971 CST Blazer, you probably saw it on e-bay where it was for a short period of time a cople of months ago. I didn't buy it on e-bay, but I drove the 2.5 hours to buy it near Whicita, KS. Well it only took one look and a drive, and the rest is history. Attached are some pictures.

Thanks

Reply to my welcome letter.

Thanks to those who responded. I'm out of the "Show-Me-State" Kansas City, Missouri. I know most of you have projects that your working on or near completion and I wish you best, so I feel a little out of place because I bought mine already complete. BUT I'm over it, I just don't have the time and I didn't want to wait.

Do you guys have the original flat steel bars that are screwed in vertically to the bed of the truck witch hold the weatherstripping for the tailgate? I'm trying to decide if I should pursue trying to find them or use someting else. If you guys do have them on your Blazer's do they keep the water out? Thanks Fern..

Fern, don't feel out of place, the reason I have projects is I can't afford to buy a completed truck! (I know I would probably be better off, but my wife doesn't notice the $500 here, $200 there as much as she would big $$$

You have a nice Blazer, enjoy it! Rg

Welcome from N. Cali. More power to you for buying a complete Blazer. But, are they ever really complete? Reason I have a "project" is that I enjoy the building part of it. Dare I say, almost more than just driving it.

you ever heard the mitsubishi commercial

spokesmen -"so you can spend less time fixing them and more time driving them"

hillbilly -" drving them, *laugh*"

I think the funniest part was

"you mean they fix'em on there lawn"

Thanks for the welcome guys! I definitley drive it everyday, and I can tell you that it's a lot of fun to drive and man the looks I get. Seems like whenever I pull in for gas or at a stop light people are always complimenting me on the truck. I just tell them I didn't do the resto, but I'll take the compliments.

The guy I bought it from did a great job, he just left some things unfinished especially the weatherstripping on the back end. I like to find those steel strips, and carpet strips as well so I can do it right. Also, all the sudden my windshield washer fluid pump isn't working so I'll guess I'll be pulling that out this weekend.

Looks like a nice clean blazer.

You'll soon find you own little projects to do on it.

Have fun and welcome to the blazer side.

There is plenty of board members in your area, and all are willing to help you fix your new Blazer (and drink a few beers)
