This is all of them, I have decided that the cap will stay on until the bed is painted. I don't want to create the rust probem (but it is killing me :-) )

You want to see something FUGLY.........when I bought my truck ( a longhorn) it had a cap on it for a longbed, and a gap between the cab and the cap........now, that was ugly! Looks like a great truck, and a shorty, too. Enjoy.

that looks like a prime examlpe of a well kept truck. excellent find!!!!!!
how bout a spray-in bedliner instead of painting the bed? they can color match these days. then you (at least I) wouldnt be afraid to use it as a truck.
then use the topper as a doghouse in the backyard

That doesn't sound too bad considering the alternative (leaving the shell on for 3 yrs till I can paint the whole truck). As good of shape as this truck is, I thought I might paint it and get an AM radio to return it to stock. How frowned apon is it to have these bedliners in place... I never intended to own a show truck but this one is sooooo close to original I hate to rule it out. Also do I need to sand it before I take it to them or do they do it?

Again I am new ( ) to all this so if I am way off and it would take a fortune to bring it to show quality let me know.

thanks!

If you are thinking about going with origionality, I would definatly throw the bed liner idea out the window
