Anyone have pictures of Highlander buckets?
I just purchased a 72 4x4 400/th350/np205 lifted alot and 39.5" tires. It has some newer '80s style buckets in it that are not the best condition. Oh and no rear bench.
I have a good friend who just picked up a parts Blazer from down in South Texas. It was a 76 model but it had these really cool looking buckets and bench in it. they are white or parchment in color vinyl seats with the insets having a really late '60s early '70s kind of plaid cloth in an orangish green and brown patern. I wish I had some pictures to show you. but I haven't gone to get them from him yet. I did buy them and I know they were probably not original to the 76. You see the floors of the 76 were rusted really bad and the buckets were welded to what was left of the floor. The rear bench has same color combo and has the white/parchment arm rest with the ashtray inset. Could these be 1972 Highlander buckets? They are low back and the same shape I have seen in some other '70s model Blazers. Anyone have any pictures of the color trim combo??? Thanks for the help. And hey at 50 bucks I can't complain. the brackets are probably worth that alone.

Sure, I hope this works. I found this for sale here and made a deal with a board member in Oklahoma. I love it. And I am almost done getting ready to trail ride.

I got the Carb off and pulled the tank for cleaning. I have all the body parts back on or ready to go back on. I plan to shoot it with Satin Black paint all over in a couple weeks. I will be removing the interior and installing the new one. While I have the interior bare. I plan to line the whole inside.
The rear quarters look bad but aren't just stripped bare and surface rusted. A DA and some good primer / paint will fix that. i also have all the lights and wiring needed. Except two tail light lenses (anyone got a decent set for cheap?). It runs very strong and sounds great. Just a little more tinkering and it will be ready for those first spring days.

Not sure, it's got at least 3 inch body and about 6 under the frame. I can park my 5 year old sons bicycle underneath it in the driveway.
It was purchased mainly as a fun summer toy. but you know how that goes. I have been trying to tell myself not to drop the nest egg into it. it won't be a show stopper but it will be fun to take the top off and take the faily cruizing.

Yep that is definately the patern. but mine are currently Green, yellow and brown (pretty sure). Could be Green, orange and brown. Wow, great score I guess. At least they are period correct.
From what I remember seeing, the passenger was all there and in decent shape, needs a good cleaning. Same as the rear with less wear. drivers could use new cover and some extra padding. Cool thanks for the help guys. Maybe I can get some pictures of these when I go get them this weekend.

If you need to see them in person I
live in Ft. Worth. I used simple green (about 15% in water) in a spray bottle and a brush to clean the plaid part. Had the buckets recovered but used the original "cleaned plaid" in the inserts. HatGuy pm me if you want to get together.

I don't see blazer highlander seats very often, but here's another blue set on ebay that was posted here last week. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=138698 They went for less than I thought, but you also gotta figure it cost some coin to ship them too. Just click on the relist link to see the end of auction results the second time around.

Hatguy - thanks for the offer to see them in person. We may have to met up when I get this thing road worthy again. I have been planning to make custom seat covers out of denim. This way I can easilly remove them for washing and cleaning. While also being very Durable and heavilly scotch guarded. I know I will loose that cool look of the plaid. But my plans are to get this truck dirty regularly. And I would hate to ruin new replacement seat covers that are vintage style.
Tilly, thanks for posting those, I saw that auction and meant to follow it so I could see what they are worth. Hell I guess I got a really good deal on mine then. that is what happens when you have good friends who don't try and take advantage when pricing spare parts. I think I owe my buddy a good ol' steak dinner. He was also the one gracious enough to drive 3.5 hours to OKlahoma to trailer this rig back home for me. Now that is a good friend.

Just a folow up. I finally got my seats home and wanted to post pics to show ya'll. they are definately not highlander's. I pulled the seat back of and they are stamped with a rather large 71. So i assume they are 71 Custom deluxe buckets. Anyone have a guess on the year for these?
I started cleaning them up and reapiring and painting the brackets. I hope to have them recovered and installed by next weekend. Yahoo! got to have goals. Oh and here is a shot of it at my house. I have started to weld up trim holes and even shaved the front and rear marker lights. What do you think? It will be all black except the wheels and the front grill. Creeping Death!!

Those seats look like later model seats, possibly van seats. Clean them up and they will be nice in there.

I think those are the seats that came original in your '76 donor car. If I'm correct, you'll find that the seat tracks won't fit your '72. The passenger seat track most likely will be too narrow (side to side) and the driver seat tracks will fit right between the two rear mounting points. My 71Jimmy has two sets of mounting points for the rear of the driver seat tracks. If I remember they are about two or three inches apart. The furthest back rear mounting point is for utility buckets. The closer up rear mounting point is if your using "highback" bucket seats.

yeah, I love this rig. it sits so high in my driveway. Looks kinda mean and nasty. Did some sanding and primeing over the weekend. Got that crust off the tailgate and rear quarter. Looking better already. Soon as I get the seats in I and the lights re-wired. I will be getting it inspected and then off to paint.
here are some pics to update. More as I get it done.
