New guy here, checking in

Hello there folks. My father and I finally picked up our new baby.

She's a '65 SWB Fleetside, all original with a 283 and A/C. One owner truck with semi low miles. We haven't tried to start it yet (the truck will be here tomorrow). It's gonna need some work but we've done this plenty of times before. I can't wait for it to be here tomorrow so I can start tearing into it and looking for parts for it. Here is a quick pic I took yesterday when I went to pay for it.

Anyway, I'm excited to be here and don't be mad if I start asking a ton of questions as we start building it.

Dan

Wow I really need to scout out my next project in Texas, there are some great looking projects there. Surface rust maybe, but the whole thing looks so solid, even air in the tires ! I started my project with a cattle auctioneers farm truck from central Alberta. What a difference 40 years of no snow or road salt can make. Looks great, giver a good sanding and a coat of primer and she'll have a new lease on life.

Cab corners were really bad for rust, look in the corner by the doors at the floor and lift up the floor mat to see how the floors look by the cab mounts. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Cool, thanks. yeah it's pretty solid. The guy I bought it from (he just dragged it home when i showed up to look at it) got it from the original owner. The guys daughter drove it when they bought it new from Capitol Chevrolet in 1965, which is ironic, because I live about 4 miles from Capitol Chevrolet but the truck was about 100 miles away. It was parked in 1981 in the gentlemen's garage and started occasionally for about 10 years. I'm pretty sure I can get it started though with some light work. I'm already looking for parts for it now. The guy also has another SWB Fleet sitting out there that I'm thinking about picking up

Welcome to the board from Louisiana, Very nice pickup. I'm really partial to these year model trucks myself, as you can tell. Good luck on the project and keep us posted. Kevin
