My 1971 4X4 Longbed Project

Scored this baby a few months back, I think I've got a pretty good base to work with! Only has surface rust, and its pretty slight. Solid body from Nevada. 350 Motor, 350 Trans, runs excellent. Markers have been shaved, which I think actually looks nice. Dual spare tanks, but need to hook them up. Bench seat was removed for bronco buckets, but need to find a center console to complete the look. Originally green, but repainted white which I like.

lol... i love you guys! i'm in Omaha, Nebraska. Just need to get it painted right, redo the side-marker patches (I think I'm going to leave them in). Also, the automatic shifter was taken from the steering colum and put on the floor. Was thinking about putting it back on the colum, but not sure yet. Any opionions appreciated! Also need to find a center console to complete the look, and the gas tank is exposed in the cab and need to find a way to cover it up that looks nice. Mechanically its sound, might need a little work as it leaks a bit of oil.

What else, has a Dana 44 front and 14-bolt rear end, lowered gears cuz of the tires, warn locking hubs. Edelbrock dual-plane performer intake and 4-barrel carb. Has power steering, A/C, disc brakes up front, frame mount hitch (not installed yet). Interior has rubber floor with diamond-plate edges...

You asked for opinions, which is cool, but you gotta make it like you like it. I think they look cleaner w/o marker lights, but my favorite year of these trucks is '67 which didn't have them, so I'm probably bias!! I think they look cleaner w/o marker lights. Since its already got buckets and 4X4 shifter, I would probably leave the auto shifter in floor, and get a Blazer or CST console. I really like those custom door panels. However you go with it, its already a truck most all of would love to have!!

67 C-30, I agree. On one hand I love the look of something original, on the other I hate the marker lights. I had a 67 Cougar that didn't have them, and in 68 they added them and I hated the look. I think in this case I'll leave them covered up. I also agree with you on the shifter, might be more trouble than its worth putting it back on the column. Any ideas on where I can find a center console for it?
