Locking the Door
I try to lock the door on the truck by pushing down the door lock knob on the inside and shut it. The door lock knob on the inside pops up and the truck won't lock.. I have to use the key to lock the door.
Is this normal?

Its a feature I like, I have locked myself out of my old toyota so many damned times that I keep a metal coat hanger in the bed under the spare tire. If someone wants to steal it, its worth about $400.

Every time I've looked at it I have settled on it being this way unless you change out the entire door latching system. I got used to it along time ago and have grown to love not being able to lock the keys in. If it really bugs you put in power door locks and a remote.

You can hold the handle button in as you close the door, I believe that keeps it locked

Nah, pushing in the button doesn't make it work in my case.

Holding in the button as you close the door has no effect. You have to either lock the door from the inside and exit the other door or use the key.
