I ran a comparison test with Vavoline and Castrol. The 305 Camaro had 250,000 miles. I had always ran Vavoline. After an oil change I would have to add a quart at about 600 miles. I changed to Castrol and I got an extra 200 miles before I had to add a quart. I believe the Vavoline breaks down faster. I drive 124 miles a day, so it was pretty easy to do a good comarison. I use Castrol now.

Becareful when talking oil filters. One Fram branded filter could be made by Wix and the next Fram branded filter could be made by Baldwin, Donaldson... hey it could even be made by Fram. Depending on part# Napa filters are not all made by Wix. One way to tell, look at the baffle plates, (the top part of the filter with all the holes in it) they will have different stampings and hole paterns depending on manufacture and the size of the filter.
Later Paul

If Wix Is The Best In Filters.... Just Buy A Freakin Wix Filter... Not One That They Made And Put Another Name On It... You Get What You Pay For And Trying To Save A Few Dollars When It Comes To Changing Oil Is Not A Good Idea... Find Somewhere Else to Save Some money
I Run Mobil 1 And Wix Filter Every Time.....

See my earlier post. Fram filters are made by Fram. No one rebadges as Fram. Fram does rebadge like I said earlier. NAPA Gold are Wix. Silver may be different as they used the cheapest bidder in the past for those. I never use the Silver so I haven't seen one in a long time. Better to stay away until someone determines who's actually making them now.
