After reading this post over lunch, I decied to stop in at a place by me where there is a '70 lwb parked in the weeds that I have been avoiding asking about. The garage door was open, so I pulled in and knocked on the door. I told him who I was and that I was interested in the 'old chevy' he had out back. He wasn't sure if he wanted to sell it, and I told him he didn't need to decide right now. I gave him my # and asked if I could go look at it before I left. I gave it the once over - nothing special. A 350/350 2wd with a wood bed. I was hoping for the tach dash, AM/FM, tow hooks, etc. but not this time. Guess I'll wait and see what happens....

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Or as some people do, well i have one very similar, but it got hit... it looks like between the two I could build one good one.... if they want to get rid of it... there is usually less haggling as they know you aren't in love with it as its only a parts car... what they may not know is its all the parts you wanna hang on that car/truck to make it a looker...

I wish knocking gained better results... I've had my eye on (2) trucks since I bought my house 5+ yrs ago... The first one i went to about a month ago. Guy gave me some song & dance about how much it is worth, and how he's going to be rebuilding it, because he misses not having a truck... This truck has sat so long, the sheetmetal has rusted so thin, i was afraid to touch the truck...
The 2nd truck, they just said "NO". so i left... it's a GMC wrecker w/ dually rear end... it kills me everytime i drive past it... Maybe they'll remember me when they come around to gettin' rid of it...
