manual tranny temp

This is kind of a funny question, but i was wondering how warm a manual tranny should get. i just put a NV4500 in my truck and you must run a certain oil in these or they say it will toast the tranny. the thing is this synthetic oil has the consitancy of slightly thick water, and is clear. i am used to putting 80w90 in manuals and that stuff is way thicker. so after i got it out and went up and down the road i was just wondering how warm it should feel.

on a different note i need to get some sound deading material on the floor, cause you can hear the whine of the gears and hear the shift forks slap into every gear.

The best part of all this is that i was according to my speedo, i was doing 70-75mph at just below 2500 rpm, with 4.10s. that is awesome, now i can run the interstates without spinning 400 million rpm
