Question How rare

How rare is this door or tool box option on the bedside I have heard vary rare and then I meet a guy who had 4 or 5 doors so I dont know

in 72, only 6% of the trucks built had the optional tool box.
This option started in '70.

It seems like I saw a reproduction tool box door at Brothers one time. If I remember right it was fiberglass and expensive.

A few years ago i had a 73 w/ the box. It looked exactly like the ones pictured here. You may be able to find one of those as a replacement since 73-87's are dime a dozen!

What makes them hard to find is not only the 6%, but the fact that 80% of those are rusted out. Even here in Cali its almost impossible to find a good door.

Where was your truck manufactored, the letter code from the VIN, Z=Freemont, S=St Louis, etc ??
