I STARTED INSTALLING MY DISK BRAKES TODAY. I GOT ALMOST EVERTHING IN PLACE. I DID NOT KNOW IF IT WAS GOING TO WORK. NO PROBLEMS SO FAR. I NEED TO MAKE MY FINAL CALIPER BRACKETS NEXT WEEK.

I'M USING 94 CAPRICE ROTERS. 96 CAMARO REAR CALIPERS. I MAKING THE CALIPER BRACKETS. THE MASTER IS FROM A 70 CORVETTE AND THE A VALVE IS A DISK DISK VALVE. I USED A SIMILER SET UP ON MY OTHER TRUCK BUT I USED A CAPRICE CALIPER. IT IS WORKING WELL. THIS IS MY OTHER TRUCK.

So - you manufactured your own caliper bracket? How thick of a gauge of steel did you use?

So....using the Camaro and Caprice, this leaves you with 14mm wheel studs, right?

Dude, that is so sweet. I can't wait to do my truck!

What was the cost on the hardware?

what did you use for park brake cables? Camaro? Caprice?

as an FYI i'd be a bit leary of the parking brake... integral parking brake units typically dont hold too hot on trucks.... hence why most dont use them and use a drum in hat system instead. There are some exceptions (H1) but most cars get IPB and even those systems are typically just above passing for hill holds..

Yeah I'd be interested to hear about the PB. I bought some 78 Eldorado calipers to use on the rear. They are supposedly the best as far as the IPB's go.

ON THE PARKING BRAKE I USED THE STOCK CAMARO CABLE

Let us know how well this works on the truck. Such as emergency stopping abilities when it is rainy out etc. I'd be a bit worried about the rear end whipping around on me when I slammed on the brakes and locked up the rear.

So Far So Good Th E-brake Holds The Truck No Lock Up Problems. I Need To Change The Cable Angle At The Control Arm. I Drove In The Rain Last Night With No Lock Up Problems. I Think I Am Going To Change The Booster It Seems To Need More Boost Possibly Due To The Volume Increase In The Rear.

Yeah, not a GM, but I love it. 1969 GMC 32,000 - fix, drive, relax, fix... 2019 BMW R1250 GSA - Yahoooooooo 1979 Honda GL 1000 - retro touring at its best. Past: '05 Sierra 4x4 - Had 270,000 KM and running well when it was written-off by a stop sign runner. '94 F-150 from the "F word" company. I'll admit it...good truck. Sold what was left of it for $800 to a guy who came to pick it up at 11:00 PM with cash in hand. Hmm. '79 Sierra Grande (Black) organ donor - perfect rebuildable 4-bolt 350 and a good TH350. '76 Sierra Grande (Orange) - hate isn't too strong a word. Kid who bought it turned it into a hot rod. '68 C-10 R.I.P. - Dad's old truck...too far gone to resurrect. '59 C-50 - with hoist. Truck is gone, wife isn't. Nuff said.
