Curb weight?
The GVW on my '79 camper special is 8200lbs. In the glove box, there's a sticker that says the maximum load is 2376lbs. Does that mean that the curb weight would be 5824lbs? (8200-2376) And why do they call it a 3/4 ton when it holds well over 1 ton?

That's the weight quoted from NADA. The farthest I could go back is 86.

IMO, stop by a weigh-scale, or pay attention to the empty weight next time you're at the dump. The only figures worthwhile on the sticker will be the GVWR, and the max front/rear GVW.
My 2wd Burb weighs in at slightly over 6000lbs. My '91 crew tips the scales at 7700lbs... EMPTY
