Im looking for a radio for my 70 c-20.I want to retain the factory location.Any ideas on a radio and i was thinking of mounting the speakers in a box behind the seat.?Thanks

Not sure if this is what you are after,but one of the dealers I use carries an aftermarket radio that looks stock until you turn it on.It has all the bells n whistles of more modern decks including a CD controller,RCAs,seek/scan,electronic tuner, yadda yadda.They aren't too cheap though.

What do you want? CD, mp3/WMA player, or ?

I'd reccomend a Pioneer for the head unit (radio) because they are usually reasonably priced and work good and last awhile. Either that or an Alpine.

For speakers you have several options, the easiest would be if you didn't have an in-cab gas tank and getting some 6x9's with truck boxes and sticking them back there. One of my friends did that with his '86 K10 and it worked pretty good.

If you still have the in-cab tank, you can get speakers that fit underneath the dash in the stock location, i had a pair of them (Kenwoods) in my truck and they sounded OK but were very tiny (like 3.5" in diameter). You can also get plastic panels for the kick panels that mount a 6.0-6.5" speaker but they cost about $75 w/o speakers and are way overpriced IMO. Another solution would be to cut the doors and install some 6.5" or 6x9" speakers in them, but that involves cutting the doors.
