Need info:Selling Parts

Could someone tell me how you go about the whole process with shipping? How do you get your weight of a given part,to start with. Then what,I guess the shippers have websites that give rates from zip to zip?Like Schultz(Hogan`s Heros)said,"I know nut-ting".

Depending on the parts your shipping, we use USPS PRIORITY for parts under 25 pounds and DHL for prretty much everything else. We weigh the boxed up parts on a bathroom scale to get the boxed weight and measure the box size then call DHL for the rate and pickup. You will have to setup an account with DHL which is free, they send you a packet with rates and labels. You have the option of using a credit card for monthly billing or paying by check when they pickup. Paying by check is a little better for me because the monthly billing can vary from their quote by as much as 20%.You call them with the weight and sizes and where they are going and they give you a quote to write the check for. They charge a flat rate 3.00 for pickup on the first box so have all your packages ready. For USPS we take them to the post office each morning on the way to the shop.
