Brake switch question

Hey guys!

Does anyone know if someone makes a brake switch for our truck that is normally open?

Aka, it lets voltage through while the brake pedal is NOT being touched, but when you press the pedal down, it stops the current?

I need one for the electronic cruise setup I am retrofitting into my truck

Russell, GM used a switch to disengage the torque convertor lockup when you press the brake. That switch should work like you want.

What about the brakelight switch for a truck with factory cruise? Actually aren't you describing a normally closed switch? It is closed (lets current pass) until it is moved.

BeaterC10, its actually the opposite for some reason... if the switch is just sitting on the table, then it will not apply current unless you hit the switch, then it will allow current. So, while it is in the truck, when the pedal is up, it lets current though, but when the pedal is down, it does not. Complete opposite to the stock brake light switches, which allow current when the pedal is down, but not when it is up.

The factory cruise control used the same type of switch as the brakes did, closed when the pedal is down, open when the pedal is up

Shoulda thought about the TCC switch -- That'll work perfectly
