What'd ya get done this weekend?
Looks like Ken is out of the office, so hopefully he won't mind if we start without him.
What did you get done this weekend? I worked Saturday, and spent most of Sunday doing yard work. However, I did get some stuff done to Yeller during the week. I got my fuel door plate welded in, got my gas cap assembly installed, and got my bucket seat brackets and tracks blasted, primed, and painted.

When i had a chance i also installed one of the stock radios in the dashboard and hooked up the four speakers. Now im looking for spray dye that matches the camel colored dahs board and the side pockets i have

I went to Austin this weekend to get a few things accomplished. We picked up a 52K mile 86 Grand National that came with a huge load of NOS parts to part out, and got our 87 Monte SS project ready to come off of the frame. we got some stuff put up on Ebay, and went looking at tools and toolboxes. I got back and spent the rest of the day with my lovely bride. Nothing truck related, but it wasn't bad either.

I finished installing the rebuilt transmission in my truck Saturday. I just need to do a little more (top off fluid when it is hot, adjust kickdown cable) to have everything done.
I entered the '37 Chevy coupe in a car show, and my father-in-law entered his '67 RS Camaro. He bought it from the original owner in 1974, and 3 of his 4 kids drove it while in college. He got 3rd place. I got nothing because my car is rough. Slonaker Last edited by Slonaker; 04-18-2005 at 11:12 AM. |

bled all the old nasty brake fluid from the 78 and replaced with nice stuff, re-wired the MSD ignition. Only 4 days before the 78 comes back to life!

Finally got my '79 idiling decent. Replaced the intake manifold to carb. spacer gasket and the carp. spacer to carb. gasket. Got it pretty high centered and stuck on some trees Saturday, went and pulled it out yesterday. Got stomach sickness yesterday and just started feeling better a couple of hours ago.

This weekend I was selling parts at Memphis Super Chevy. I brought my 65 Bel Air 2 door sedan to sell, but pulled it home again. I got a few people very interested in the car and made over $900. selling parts! This money should be going into my 83, but something else will come up I'm sure; it always does. I'm having a problem with the truck stalling and quiting on me, so I've got to figure that out soon. That's my weekend. David

It looks like you got a lot done on your truck. Everything looks good so far.. I spent the weekend watching my daughters volleyball team play their hearts out. This was a Junior Olympic qualifier and brought in 120+ teams in her age group. They played three days of hard fought battles and managed to stay in the gold bracket all the way. They lost in the first round of the finals, but it was a great match against a really strong team..... Last edited by N2TRUX; 04-19-2005 at 08:49 AM. |

Saturday, I pulled the 250-6 in the '81 and dropped in the 454. Had to go out of town Sunday, so I haven't had a chance to finish the install. It's in there though, just need to hook everything up.

Went to Super Chevy in Memphis. Bought a '67 396 intake to put on the '78 454 when I'm that far along. Got home about 4:00 and my wife & I left town for what was left of the weekend for our 22cd anniversary.

I picked up 2 15x8" rally wheels from a junk yard and put in my aluminum alt pulley along with a new fan belt. I got the March 2 1/8" pulley. Helps put out a bit more voltage idling at long lights with the a/c and lights on compared with the stock 2.5" pulley on it.

Well I am continuing with the trans/t-case project.
The flywheel is turned, and the new clutch is installed. My clutch fork retaining spring deal that holds the throwout bearing was broke. I had to wait a day to get a new one from GM. Tomorrow the t-case and trans get all new seals and gaskets and a fresh coat of paint. I rebuilt my drivelines at work, all new u-joints, zerks and a nice paint job. The CV joint for the front end was interesting. Everything is going great.
