Pin stripes - opinions & pics needed

Looking to finish off my stepside project by brininging in a professional to pin stripe the truck... i always thought of pin striping the body lines... but after seeing this blue truck, it just doesn't strike me... the orange truck looks a lil better w/ the extra bottom stripe, but i'm still unsure... any ideas?

I prefer the orange one, but I don't really like pinstripes.

Like 86 GMC said, do what makes you happy.

I agree, the pinstrip on the orange truck looks better. Probably because the pin strip color is more subtle compared to the color of the truck. I don't have any 73-87 pics, but here's some cropped pics of pin strips on a darker background color (like your truck). I've seen some incorporate the year and model of their rod within the pin strip. By themselves, pin strips are kinda retro. But, a lot of guys still use them. I don't remember if you're going to keep the stacks on your stepside, but maybe you throw around the idea of putting some very subtle 'Von Dutch'-like pin strips in a few places around your truck ... sorta like the truckers. It all depends on the theme you're trying to acheive. That said, you could just keep the solid color for now and decide later.

Here's a couple more pics. Little more of a modern flare using an air brush along with stripping.

I think it's the fact that the orange truck has the same design/shape on the cab as the bed where as the blue is just the top body line.
