Any interest in a GMC core support.
Is there a difference in 67-72 GMC core supports? I beleive it is a '68 because the front clip had a sloped hood and fenders had markers.
I am debating wether to use the sloped hood and painted grill on my '72 GMC. If I don't use them soon I will have those available as well. What parts from the 68 do I need to convert my 72 to a 68 hood?

I believe that 67GMC and Chevy fenders are the same, and 68 chevy fenders and 68-72 GMC fenders are all the same. I'm not sure if all of the GMC core supports are the same due to the fact that GMC hoods were not the sloping type from 69-72.

Early core support should be the same with the exception of the lower valance or stone guard. It goes between the grill and the core support - used in 67/68 only I think. The early core support should have maybe 7 captured nuts on the lower face to accept the valance bolts. If you don't have this piece it is no big deal - only used in 67/68. Same in Chevy also - only in 67/68. Another area that MIGHT be different is the grill catch area - not part of the core but bolts to it. There is a difference between 67/68 and 69/72 on the Chevys due to differences in the grill. Don't know right off if GMC is the same or not.
The 67/68 slope hood is WAY COOL. I am going to use a 68 grill(no GMC stamping) with 67 fenders and no letters on the hood. Only the small lettered GMC tailgate. Good luck - Bob

Your front fenders will be fine, they are all the same for GMC from 68-72. I will look at the radiator supports I have but I think you will be okay on that too... I'm thinking the hood latch is different though... the 68 style is flat across the front (see pic) and the 69-72 kicks up in the front due to the taller top bar on the grill.
and you would have to use the 68 grill with the painted top bar. The grill on your 72 has the large chrome top bar that will not work with the 68 hood. Good luck, Rg

gmc core support
These guys are right. Only diff on the core support would be the bolt holes along the bottom on 67/68's for the gravel guard. The rest is made up in the grill (the 69-72's have the big top bar vs. the 67/68 has the painted metal piece on top. I think the hood latch is different also.

So is what is being said is to convert a 68-72 GMC to a 67-68 Chevy you will need the Core support, grill, light buckets, and a new hood and hood latch. Is this what is being said?

Glory...I'm thinking of converting my 72 GMC to a 68 GMC front clip.
Guys.... are the chrome hood moulding and side brows for a 68 still available?
