Carb problem

I have an Edelbrock carb and when I punch the throttle the truck will cough/ bog down/ hesitate for a second before kicking in. I can push the accelrator slowly and it won't do this. It's only when I punch it. Any ideas?

There is a accelerator pump linkage. There are 3 holes out of the box it's in the middle try moving it up to the top hole. That will be giving the motor a bigger squirt. Do you have the owners manual ? If so there is alot of great info to dial in that carb.
