Question Need some advise, Having some problems?

My dad has a 70 swb Chevy 4x4. He is attempting to install a bb 402 in it. the motor is in but he is having problems getting the left valve cover on and the exhaust headers in. He says the motor is sitting to close to the fire wall. If he moves the motor forward he will hit the front springs of the front suspension. He does have the proper mounts and perches. Anyone whom has experienced this problem before or whom may know how to remedy this, I would appreciate it!
Thanks,
longhorn70gmc

i dont know how he can fix this, other then cut out the dip in the firewall and make it wider and farther back in. or if its possible move the motor forward, because 4x4 engine cradles are in 6 cyl holes
