Is 5 1/2" backspacing too much for 20" rims to fit on a 72??
I was reading the tire fitment post and it seems most people are running 4" back spacing on the rear. Would I need spacers with 5 1/2" back spacing on the rear?? Wheels are off a 89 chev and I want to put them on a 72.

I would think it depends on how wide the rims are, i have 20x10 on rear with 5.0 back space on the blazer and they fit fine. looks like you could get away with 6.0 of spacing with no problems with 20x10. not sure about front i'm running 18x8 with 4.0 of back spacing.

The wheels I'm kooking at are 20x9 1/2 with 5 1/4 back spacing. Should these fit on a 72??

Corie, I was at the Spring Thaw show today and saw a truck with 20's, even though it was a 52 chev, I think it looked as if it was" tippytoeing", I think you should look at some mor pics on a short box to be on teh safe side.

look at my post " got my new wheels on". they are 20x8.5 with 5 1/2 bs. i have 72 axles.........rat

 It might be hard to tell from this pic, but mine are 20x9.5 w/ 5.5" back space and they fit great on the front but the back is in too far,looks a little wierd.

18x9.5 with 5.25" bs. with 285/40/18 tires.....

I have 22X9.5's on the back of my 67 and the bs is 5.682 and im an inch and a half too far tucked for it to fit or look right. Mine looks like Bad69's and i have to do something about them before i can put the wheel wells back in the bed.
