Mike,

Check out this link about a longhorn bed question on the stovebolt page. This guy might sitll have the bed or know if it's for sale. Hopefully he didn't cut it down.

P.S. If you are going to paint that cab another color I'll make you a deal on your factory white hood!

Tom, It was delivered as a flatbed to a carpenter who built his own motorhome on the chassis. I only saw the motorhome in a picture. The last month or so, Roger, one of CARS4567 buddies in Hunter has been dismantling the old motorhome and hauling it to the dump. What you see is what is left of it. I believe the original owner took delivery with window, pulled it out and built the pass through you see in the picture. I will be taking that mess out and putting a window from my '67 with the proper chrome trim.

Today I found the original owners manual and owner protection plan in the glove box still in the original plastic Chevrolet dealer envelope. This just too cool! I wonder where they put the build sheet on the bucket seat trucks...anyone know?

Oldiron...I will drive this truck to every swap meet and Friday night cruise in! Well, maybe I will wait until I buff it out and remove those old water tanks, and the holding tank! Thank goodness it is empty.

breeh...if we had known you could have brought us a cold beer and we would have turned it into a two hour job...LOL. But as it was we made pretty quick work of it. I'll remember that from now on. I make that drive four times every week during ski season.

Tom...you're right they are very close! Mine is off-white and I noticed yours is white. Mine has those Custom Camper badges too. I was confused about the lower trim but I guess that was an option too. Yours is a great looking truck! The only thing I can't get to work on mine now is the radio. I am sure I can open it up and find something to tinker with.

Dang, you're right they are not the same color! Here I thought I found my white hood, LOL.

Yes, side chrome trim was a seperate option from CST in 68.

That's going to make one awsome project.

I have that exact same truck, 68 CST with a chassis mounted camper. It was white but I changed it to black. It is a 52k mile truck. Mine has a 400 turbo, but a/c and the same seats and everything. Very cool find. Mine has perfect interior also, but the center seat was removed so you could access the camper. I had to find a center seat. Nice how the camper kept the sun off of the interior. Good luck with it.

Joesjunk....that is really cool! I like the black and I bet it looks good with that interior. You have the lower trim package...I feel cheated! What motor do you have the 327 or 396? You and Tom's 68 have really low mileage trucks...sorta feel like mine has been rode hard and put up wet at 63,000...LOL!

Joe, I see the 400 badge on the fender...you must have the 396 option. Is yours a 133 inch wheelbase? Mine has the Custom Camper badges instead of the C30. Ready to trade wheels...I really think the black steel rims would accent your black paint...LOL.

eb...I am emailing you the pic of the hood...very tight but bright sun today makes it a little hard to see. I am so pleased with the fit on this one.

My truck actuall was a 327 from the factory, but a 32k miles they put a 400 small block in it ( about 1973 ) and the original owner put the 400 emblems on the fenders, they are from an Impala. It had the chrome from the factory, but it doesn't say anything about it on the glove box sticker. I need to get the bed done and it will be complete.

Mine was a 157"wb and we cut out 19" from the frame. If you look you will see the difference in the frame lenght with and w/o the new bed. I really thought the fawn interior was a neat color. Once again you have a VERY cool truck, NICE! Do you mind if I ask what you had to pay for it??? I gave $1400.00 for mine
