front end rebuild components question
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to rebuild my front end soon (tie rods, sleeves, idler arm). I've been to some sites and they list years 60-70 then 71-72. Is there a difference? I'm using drop spindles and disc brakes. My hunch tells me I should use the 71-72 components. Thanks in advance, Jay

yes there is a difference the 71-72 tie rod ends and upper ball joints are different due to the Disc Brake Spindles instead of the drum spindles

On my '72, tie rods/ends, centerlink, balljoints and spindles are the same regardless if it's power or manual steering.

Dawg:
When I recently bought parts for my '67, ball joints, A arm shaft kits, tierod ends were all the same, power steering or not. The tie rod end SLEEVES had two different part numbers for my '67, depending on power steering or maual steering. Not sure what the differance is. I used Advance Auto Parts online store to check availiblity and pricing, as we have that parts store chain locally. Saved a bunch of shipping charges by ordering though the store. How that helps some. cowboy33713 |
