It's been 4 year I cant remember where the ground wires go. I think one went on the pass side cab mount dont remember any where else.

Here is some pictures of a very low miles 72 truck that appered to be very stock and unrestored. It´s not my truck.
There was a ground wire on the passenger side only.
Sorry, can´t help you with the rest of the ground wires.

1 - passenger inner fender to frame strap
1 - frame to passenger side front cab mount strap
1 - frame to rear passenger bed cross sill strap

From the frame to the 2nd from the rear bed cross-sill on the passenger side. This is from GMC Pauls.

Bought mine from NAPA. Only a couple dollars each, and you can get different lengths.

Since you aren't doing a "correct" restoration, you don't necessarily have to put the ground straps in the original locations. Just make sure you have grounds that connect the body, engine, frame, and battery. The engine and body are isolated from the frame (rubber body mounts, rubber engine mounts, etc) so ground straps are a must. I have one going from the engine to the frame and one going from the frame to the underside of the cab. Might also be a good idea to put one from the bed to the frame. The bed sits directly on the frame and therefore shold be grounded, but paint (and future dirt and rust) could prevent a good ground.

I second what slammed said. I got ground staps all over my truck. Some electrical stuff was actin "funny" when I put the truck together. So, I made sure everyting was grounded to the frame and shazamm, no more electric gremlins. It ain't factory, but everything works.

I Got new ground straps like C10stepside showed.

I put one from the frame to the cab and another from the bed member to the frame. I mounted my battery to frame behind the cab. Then I grounded the battery to the frame then grounded the motor to the frame.
