Fuel delivery problem?
I drove my truck about 15 miles last night, turned it off for about 5 minutes, and then went to start it back up. It would crank over, and "hit" but it wouldn't start. After about 30 seconds of cranking, it finally started, and ran fine. It is like the fuel line had a few inches of air in it, even though i had 15 gallons of gas in the tank. Today, it runs great, with no problems at all. Any idea on what did this? Defective fuel pump maybe?

Probably just vapor lock (boiling fuel)...happens all the time...

Well, i did notice that my fuel line (3/8" rubber to a Edelbrock carb) was leaning up against my upper heater hose. Could that have boiled the fuel?

I have yet to see one of these trucks that does not have this problem.
Yes, try to move everything that makes the fuel hot away from the line, that, or move the line away from the heat...whic ever is easier.  ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Trying to clean up the left over damage from the Dope-Smokin-Old-Man I've been dubbed the Longhorn Freak/Fanatic/Expert, I just hope I can live up to it. this happened to me the other day when i drove it for along time on a pretty hot day, no problems sense
