custom dash for GMC?

Hey all, Has anyone put a custom dash in a GMC? I've seen billet ones advertised, but they appear to be for Chevy only. I would like to put a set of aftermarket guages in my 63 in the near future, but I'm not sure I want to cut up my guage panel. I've thought about making a panel out of wood, but thought I'd see what others have done first.

They do make them for the 62-66 GMC dashes, can't remember the website that sells them off hand tho. I know Jim (1963GMCSuburban) over on Chevy Talk has one in his '63 GMC 'burb. His 'burb was used as the guinea pig.

Hey Guys,
He had got his from Boese Engineering. Also here's a link to the page of him fitting it into the dash.

I called them, and it sounds like they are not posted on the website just yet for a few reasons. One is they are moving from Washington to Arizona, the other is the kit is still having small tweeks done to it, but they think they finally have it now and quoted me $150 for the panel, ready for gauge install.

Thanks ChevyBoy for finding this one, I've been looking EVERYWHERE and have finally found someone that offers this kit!

How do you guys handle the blinker light? I'm very interested in this this dash, but with the noise of my truck, I can't hear the blinker and it doesn't cancel automatically. I need the flashing light on the dash to remind me it's on...

It looks like you have a simple LED for this, according to what I have read. Since the GMC's have just one signal for both directions of turn signal, they have just a small hole in the panel for this same light. Sounds pretty sweet!

Thanks for the help, I'm probably going to make one myself. I just have never really liked the billet look. I'll have to figure out a way to make one out of wood.
