Seat question

Hi,
My first 67-72 chevy I had was when I was 18. It was a 72 C20 with air, tach, tilt AM/FM, tool box and about every option under the sun. A friend of my Dads built the truck from numerous parts truck from ground up. He lost interest in it when him and his wife had a baby and sold it to me (I paid cash with money I saved pumping gas). Needless to say it was my pride and joy.

The one thing I remember about it that I have not seen on this site yet was the seat. It was a bench seat with the scroll work around the outside like many have, but the centers were cloth and had scroll work in them as well. I wish I had pics of it to show but I don't. It looked like it was factory and was not recovered (this is from memory 15 years ago). I wouldnt mind recovering my seat in my current 72 the same way.

Has anyone seen a seat like this? It was not the hounds tooth that I see in all my catalogs. Anyone know where to get covers like this? Maybe it wasn't factory, it sure looked nice.

Thanks,
Bob

it was stock...very hard to find, and even harder to find in good shape. The material felt almost silkey right?

Those seats are part of the custom interior options. My '70 has the same one, but with the dark metallic green vinyl and green cloth inserts. The two options on my truck are:

Z62 CUST CLOTH & CONV EQ
629 OLIVE CUST CLOTH TRM

The seat that was in my truck has been to hell and back, but when I acutally do a full resto on it I'll buy a new cover. You can get the covers new here:

Anyway here's some pics of it:

I know where to get the cloth and vinyl that will match the original. smsautofabrics.com. My son will be doing my 50th Anniversay seat with the original fabric and vinyl. I will post pics.

Yea, it was very smoothe and silkey. Probably the nicest bench seat I ever seen.

Robert1970C20rstbukt, I can't tell from the pics if that is it or not. I don't remember it being pleated, it had a fancy scroll work all throughout the fabric (like some of the door panels have).

I really wish I would of kept that truck, I was building a tubbed stepside and needed the cash for the motor and parts to finish my project. I should try to find out who owns the truck now, I'm sure it is still around since it was way too nice to drive in the winter.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll ask that company from the link above to send me a sample of what they have.

Bob

Yeah, the pics I have are really fuzzy. Maybe this pic will help. It's not one I took, I saved it a long time ago. Thanks to whoever posted it though.

Yup, that's it alright! I"ll have to get a sample from tat company to see if they are the same.
Thanks again for the input. I was thinking the seat was from something else since I hadn't seen any like it on here.
