Found a kilo speedo

I found a kilo speedo cluster today. Unfortunately it is hacked up a little. Some PO had probably plans to install a tach to it so it is partly hacked up were the tach normally is located.
This will go in to my truck which is arriving to Sweden on Friday and I will go and get it next week.
My truck does not have a tach so I could just cover the hacked up area with something for now. I am going to get a tach for it sometime and when I do I think it would be possible to cut out the tach section of the lens and put in a same size section from a tach lens or same thing but instead cut out the speedo section and use a new tach lens.
Here is some numbers I found on it:
Label on top of bezel: CLUSTER 64912_ _ SPEEDO 6492869-1 Label# 6492812
On the lens: 6457908-1 and on opposite side of the lens: 6458265
On the speedo face left side: KILO ASM 6492869, right side: MILE ASM 6492868, and on the backside: JAN 5 1971.

Oh...that is very cool! I would like to get one of those. Do you suppose there are any others laying around the Euro junk yards? It would be a really cool item. Are the pressure gauges in kg/cm2 or psi?

Nice find. On another note I am dropping off of '66 Mustang (light blue in colour) tomorrow to be shipped to Sweden. If you see it driving around he bought it from us. Roughly how long does it take to get there. Leaving from the east coast of Canada, yours left from the California didn't it?

How much does it cost to send a car overseas? I've got somebody in Germany interested in a car over here in the Texas area.
Is there a site I can go to that will tell me the price?

I´m sure there is more of these laying around somewhere but they seem to be very hard to find. I have asked in a lot of junk yards but nothing there so far. I found this at guy who has a 69 pickup he bought about a year ago. PO of that truck bought the extra cluster back in the 80´s, the 69 has an idiotlight setup, he never installed it but let it go with the with truck when he sold it. The present owner didn´t want to install it either because of the electrcal rewiring involved so he was willing to sell it.
I do keep on searching for these kilo speedos though because I know there is many of you guys wanting one.

Pressure is the same i guess, just H and L, face on oil pressure gauge has this numbers: 60LB 6460746.

Shipping a car over here is normally 6-8 weeks with container shipping, from leaving it at a terminal to arriving to Sweden. Ro-Ro shipping is faster. maybe 3-6 weeks.
Shipping from the West coast which I did takes about 7-10 days longer than from the East coast.
The shipping company messed things up with my truck, they forgot about it for about two months so the total shipping time is going to be about 16 weeks. I felt really bad about it when I first heard it but now the truck is soon here it is almost all forgotten.
Not sure I want to recommend the shipping company I used but here is a link to thier site: http://www.nordtrafik.se/ It is only in Swedish but below you see shipping price for one car or truck shipped in a container to Sweden.

San Fransisco ($1,400)
Los Angeles ($1,475)
Chicago ($1,700)
Houston ($1,400)
Miami ($1,200)
Baltimore, New York ($1,200)

I think this company ships to other Countries: http://www.calship.com/

What currency are those prices in? It costs just about that much in USD to ship a truck half way across the states.

The currency is USD. The prices is just for the overseas shipping but there is more costs involved before the truck is ready for the road in Sweden.
I am about to summing up everything involved in my import/shipping, I will post it on here when I have all the expenses.

I'd try to graft two lenses together to fix that hole. I've done it to make my own Tach/vac lens. It takes alot of patience and a delicate touch though. You would also be taking a risk by doing it that you might screw up your only KPH lens.

Those shipping prices don't sound too bad. It costs almost that much to truck a vehicle up here from the US.

I will let you know how everything turns out after I have got the truck home.
I have also heard about cars and trucks being damaged during overseas shipping but in most cases, everything use to turn out just fine.
My truck is far from show condition, it definitely needs a new paint job so a few scratches really doesn´t matter that much.
Here is a calculation for all expenses involved in the truck, as you can see the total will be about doubled from the price I paid:

---------------------Rate $0,14-------------------1,00 kr
---------------------Rate $1,00--------------------7,00kr
----------------------------USD-----------------------SEK
Price paid------------------$3 500,00----------24 500,00 kr
Price on "Bill of sale"--------$1 500,00----------10 500,00 kr
Over seas shipping----------$1 475,00----------10 325,00 kr
Pickup and delivery to port--$265,00-------------1 855,00 kr
Shipping insurance----------$89,29----------------625,00 kr
Port fees-------------------$285,71-------------2 000,00 kr
Administrative fees----------$71,43----------------500,00 kr
Safety inspection Sweden---$285,71-------------2 000,00 kr
Registration Sweden---------$214,29-------------1 500,00 kr
Tax in Sweden--------------$367,71--------------2 574,00 kr
Destruction fee--------------$214,29-------------1 500,00 kr
Original condition certificate--$207,10-------------1 450,00 kr

Total------------------------$6 975,57-----------48 829,00 kr

Pic of it when it was towed from Victorville,CA where I bought it and the other is from when I last saw it at the freight terminal in Gardena, CA January 25th.

Here are some explains to some of the expenses:
Pickup and delivery to port is of course depending on how far from port the pickup is.

Tax in Sweden: is based on price on Bill of Sale, overseas shipping and shipping insurance.

Destruction fee: is taken out for every vehicle that register in Sweden, it is a fee to the state
which is paid back to last owner when the vehicle goes to finally salvage/destruction.
That way the state believes that not too many worn out vehicles will be lying around.

Original condition certificate gives you a tax rebate, 12% tax instead of 25% for cars
and 38% for trucks.

The obligation is that the vehicle is 30 years or older and in acceptable original condition,
not to much altered.
The certificate is given from a person authorized from the
Chambers of Commerce in Sweden.

If I must do it, what tools did you use when cutting the lenses?
Is there anything more to think about when cutting it, any tips is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
