bumper question

I have 85 silverado (SWB)that came from the factory with a step bumper. I 'm going to be changing over to the smooth rear bumper. The question i have is will my bumper bracket from the factory install step bumper fit with the smooth rear bumper. Has anybody did this before.

I did it.

My Suburban bumper came with 4 brackets. The 2 outers are the same for trucks and Blazers/Suburbans, while the inners are different. I am running mine without the inners for now.

You need the inners specific to the smooth bumper, step bumpers ARE different.

Yes, but it would be better to have the inner brackets as well.

Don't try to pull anything with the bumper with only the outers.
