69 grille on 71.
I was wondering if it is possible, o.k. wrong words- you can fabricate anything to make it work.
Is it possible to interchange a 69 chevy's grille directly with a 71 chevy? thanks

I believe it should be a straight swap as long as you are changing both the inner and outer grill.

It will bolt right up. You just have to deal with the extra holes in your bumper and you will need a new wiring harness.

The hood release on the 71 72 sticks out a bit more. you'll have to bust out some space in the upper center of the inner grill in order to do this.
The one ton longhorn i have was like this when i got it...71/72 front sheet metal with a 69 grill. I have pics somewhere... |

Hwew you go...same front sheet metal (except the hood) placed on my old truck. I had to lighten it quite a bit, but you can see the hood release poking out.

It's a direct swap but for it to be a perfect swap you also need the change the grill support and hood latch assembly. I might have a hood latch assembly that you can have, I'll have to look around.
