Engine Installation
Hey I was wondering if when I go to swap my 305 for the 350 crate will I need to place the front of the pickup on jack stands to work under the truck properly. I know it has a stock ride hight and doing oil changes are a breeze, but I was wondering if the engine install will require more space beneath the truck?

I've found it easier (and quicker) to just go ahead and remove the entire front clip...that way, you can just slid it in without having to go up so high.
But, to answer your question. At stock height, you shouldn't need to jack the truck up at all. The lower it is the easier it will probably be. |

I wouldn't remove the front clip for an engine swap if someone paid me. Only body panel you need to remove is the hood.
I had to drive my truck up on ramps to gain access to the under side. If yours is stock you'll be fine. I just had to place a floor jack under the transmission to keep it in place while the engine was out. It's not that difficult, plus you won't have to deal with as many sensors and wires as I do. Should be a breeze.
