rear bag options on a 1ton

good lift + towing relability =

im wanting around 12-16" of lift on the rear of my 1 ton dually. basically so I can get it up to stock height and beable to change the tire on the side of the road.

but I still want to be able to tow

I know I cant run a canaliver becuse it will kill the towing capasity

I was looking a a sleave styl bag off a ambulance. the guy said it was good for 13" of lift. but you really cant push it past about 9" of lift with out it rolling over when it dumps

so what am a looking at hear. is thier a way to get good lift AND keep the towing capasity?

I was looking at thease. but im not shure if the trilep bello is good for towing or not. http://www.macsspring.com/website/co...site_frame.htm

and just for the record. im gona be runing a paralel 4link from suicide doors with a pan hardbar and a 10" notch. this ***** is going down to the pinch

Use the bag that Early Classic sells. You need to find a bag that size. Call them up and get the specs on that bag and call mac springs....Mac springs will have the same bag! those are good for i believe 3800lbs each. Check out air rides website too! I had the ECE kit on my old old truck... my first air system! They rode great @ low pressures.

I'd put a 2:1 cantilever on it, and run 4 2800's. The cantilever cuts load capacity in half, two bags puts it back. Gets 14" of lift and can still haul an a$$ load.

yea but that will be a lot of stress of the cantilever bars mounts and shacles.

I have been thinking about doing that. but I just dont know how to make the shacle that strong. the rest can be beffed up to hold any thing. but the shacle will still be the week point.

I've been baggingtrucks for about 6 years. I love and swear by Slam Specialties bags. I'm running 2600 all the way around on my 67. I get 11 in in the front. Thats with 3in drop spindles and 3 1/4 "z" in the frame. I've runn them for about 4 yrs on my toyota tacoma that was hopping about 6ins off the ground and and never blew one. The web site is www.slamspecialties.com
Little more money but well worth it

you dident even readf my post did ya? yes slams are nice. but I prefers conitech. I have been baging and juicing trucks since I was in high school.

and im looking for towing capasity. 2600# bag is NOT what I have in mind. and its not enuff lift.

hell If thats all I wantyed I 3 pairs of 2600# stones in my garage.

I think I am gona to go with the 3500# firstone sleave bag. and run a 2600# on a catin set up on top of that and swap them out depending on what I am doing.

towing. I will use the 3500#. whern im not I will take them off and use the 2600# on the catin set up for a good 16" of lift.

my two cents

Kdawg,
I know you want conti but i have used a set of bags that i bought from a firestone industrial dealer I'll try to post some pics of the rear suspension.I'm using them on the back of my 97 crew cab chev.I am also running a parrellel 4-link.my bags are behind the axle by 2" (Ineeded to mount the panard bar as close to the axle as possible). My truck is about 3'' lower than stock heightwhen fully inflated. My only limiting factor as of right now seems to be the shocks.I'll get some pics tomarrow.hope this helps.

what kinda shocks are you gonna run that will _allow_ you to get 12-16" of lift? Why would you need that kind of lift anyway? We tow with 'traditional' setups on c10 duallies with big wheels that get _much_ less lift than that with no issues whatsoever. Even with a 24.5 wheel burried in the fender on a C10 8-10" of lift is plenty.

A 2800 bag is all you need.

I have posted this same Q on 3 difrent sites.

and all I ever hear is how evry one else only has 2800 or 3500 bags and gets around 10" of lift. well ya know yea I could probly get away with 10" of lift.

a 2800# bag is probly all I need.

BUT ITS NOT WHAT I WANT!!!!!!!!!!

I want 16" of lift. yea I know I dont need it. thats what I want.

be like asking how to get 500 horse power, and evry one coming to you saying you can get by with 300. thats all they have

and as far shocks. you can buy shocks that will allow over 20" of travle.

and if I dont feel like paying the high price of the long shocks I willl mount them half wayu up the link bars

Then why dont you get a triple stack bag for that amount of lift???, but that will prolly compromise your tow cap. I know you want a bigger bag but you might want to look into airgasm's 13in bags I know you want more lift, and a heavier bag (their 2600's). Sounds like you might have to make a compromise.

trippel bags suck

like I said befoe I want ots of lift. and I WILL get lots of lift. im not going to compromise. I plan on makeing a duel bag set up using a 2600# bag on a canilver. and also a bag over axle mouted so that I can still achive fulllift. and take off the over axle bag to aceive full drop.
