Flowtech Headers ?
Anyone ever use Flowtech Ceramic headers on their truck ? Tryiing to decide which header I want to use. I will be using some type of ceramic header, as I don't want to be painting and have the extra heat inside the engine bay.
From what I have seen, Flowtech has a decent price......

Beautiful headers at a great price. We used them on my son's '77 350 that was lowered about 5.5" in front. Good clearance with the Chevelle shorty headers.

I have them on my 91' GMC. I think they are built nice but the ceramic coating SUCKS! I bought them, they sat in a box for about 8 months on my front porch, installed them & drove the truck for about 9 months and they are a mass of rust. I was under the impression that the ceramic headers weren't supposed to do that. Also, the coating turned into what looks like silver paint instead of the nice finish they had when I first installed them. Oh, BTW, they only offer a 90 Day warranty from the date of purchase on the finish...

none of the ceramic coatings last anymore. the epa keeps shutting down all the decent places and it costs sooo much to operate. my ceramic on my dynomaxes lasted about a year. the only headers that wont eventually rust on a daily driver are stainless headers

I have the Holley FlowTech Ceramics on my '71. They fit great and look great for the price. I have had them on for about 5 or 6 months, no signs of rust or coating coming off. They still look pretty new minus a couple of scracthes durring the install. I have some pictures somewhere if you want to see.

We had the Dynomaxs on for about one year on my son's daily driver before it was sold...so don't know how the coating lasted past one year. Up to that time they were fine.

You could spend some bucks and go with stainless, but a good set of ceramic coated headers should SHOULD last a good while.

anyone know how much it would cost to get a set of headers ceramic coated? I bought a pair of old stock Hooker equal lengths brand new in the box that I thought were coated but found out they are just aluminum spray coated (I think thats a fancy way of saying sprayed silver) anyway I think I would like to get them coated before installing them because I have long tube headers on there now.

from what I know the powdercoat places charge about 200 dollars for something people call clear coat. I think that is the same as the ceramic. The finish looks like buffed aluminum.

cool thanks kinda spendy but if it actualy holds up it would be worth it nothing like a nice engine compartment with nasty ass headers to ruin it.
