1981 Crew Cab Shortbed 2wd Conversion

Hi Guys,

I know this has probably been covered before but I cant seem to find a search button of any sort. I am hoping someone could help me.

I have a 1982 Chevy C20 Crewcab SRW LB. Plans are to chop the frame and put a shortwide on it. I already have the short bed and am looking for anyone who has done this swap before to shed some light on where to make cuts and how much to take out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

John

This isn't "exactly" what you are looking for, but it's close. It's a "how to" thread about cutting a LWB to a SWB. Take a look-Info inside

N2TRUX,

Thanks for the link. I actually did read through that write up! AWESOME tutorial glock!

Im actually very familiar with shortening frames, as I have done a few others much the same way. But I usually just use a diagonal cut instead of a puzzle piece type cut. Seems to work fine so far.

I am actually wondering if anyone has done this, where they took theirs out,how much, and if thye have any pictures that would be great. I'll be chopping mine up sometime next week. If I cant find too much info I'll try and do a picture tutorial as Im doing mine, for others interested in doing the same thing.

Thanks,

John
