Engine Mounts
Has anyone tried to install headers to vortec heads (vortec headers) in these trucks? There are no headers for this application. I could use headers for our trucks year, but it wouldnt have the "D" shape for the vortec heads.
Anyway, the headers I have would have to be hammered to fit, and I don't want to do that. There is only a 3/8" problem. Could I raise the front of the engine a 1/2" to clear the headers? If so, How???? My thoughts are if I remove the brackets (engine mounts) from the frame, I could elongate those holes to allow the engine mount to be alligned when there is a 1/2" spacer between them. Is there an easier way?
