Monroe Swap Meet...great parts souce!

The forecast was for rain but I came away with many good parts and a sun burn! Yes, you can get a sun burn through overcast skies...LOL! There were plenty of good NW truck enthusiasts there including, oldiron, WES, Leroy, TheoGeobel, LIVRAT, WES, PICKMUP, BobMoore, CG, DansCST (I missed him) and many more I did not see and ID.

Scores:
Like new heater core - $5
Custom Camper Emblem - $3
Door handles - $1
Stock '68 air cleaner - $1
(4) original '68 16-in split rims with clips - $10 (Leroy said he would have given me some for free but it would have cost me over $10 in gas to drive to his place...LOL...and these were very close to my truck)

Support your local swap meet!

Yes - it was a great day at Monroe. Weather was wonderful and the deals were even better. I got a complete 69 grill - inner, outer, both parking lights - no dents for $20.00. A friend got a very nice set of 67/68 bench buckets with console for $400. The seats had been re-foamed and covered and the frame repainted. Another set of seats went for $200. I did not see any 69-72 buckets or consoles but wasn't looking that hard.

Monroe brings out all sorts of stuff - 36 Buick sedan - 1940 Cadillac V8 4 door limo with dual sidemounts $18,500 - hot rods - rat rods - pickups - Model A and T. A little of everything.

Enjoyed meeting and talking with several members - a GREAT time.

Sorry I missed it guys. I make it to the rainy side a couple-three times a year. I'm still getting the brakes worked out on that new 68 396 truck I bought back in March so I didn't bring it over. I have the split rims still loaded in the back I was going to give to stlookn 'cause I won't ever run 'em.

I'm trying to figure out what I need to put discs on the front. The big-block doesn't want to stop very well with the drums. I'm pretty partial to stopping--it beats crashing.

Any help appreciated with that-- I posted a thread about it.

Next year!

Yes, it was a good day. I got some good small parts from Leroy. I missed those buckets Bob Moore/friend bought. I was right behind them. Did get an NOS TG and another set of CST buckets and other stuff.
We looked like the Beverly Hillbillies leaving there with boxes, parts & seats hanging off every corner of the racks.
